Economic Affairs Minister instructed Taiwan Power Company to consider implementing tiered electricity pricing to enable domestic businesses to access green energy, proposing to categorize electricity into green, low carbon, and general types with different pricing based on carbon emissions, expected to be implemented as early as next year. However, this idea is met with skepticism from business groups, suggesting a focus on extending the lifespan of nuclear power plants before promoting green energy, rather than solely adjusting electricity prices.
