Enhanced Traffic Law Enforcement in Luchu to Combat Pedestrian Accidents

Reported 8 months ago

As of June 20, the Luchu Police Substation in Taoyuan City has recorded a total of 67 'pedestrian injury traffic accidents' this year, with jaywalking and failure to yield to pedestrians being the main causes, mainly on Nanqian Road, Zhongzheng Road, and Dazhu Road. To reduce pedestrian accidents, the substation plans to strengthen enforcement of jaywalking and failure to yield violations from 6:00 to 10:00 in the morning and from 16:00 to 20:00 in the evening until July 31. The penalties for pedestrians crossing roads illegally have been increased to combat the 'pedestrian hell' reputation, urging drivers to prioritize pedestrian safety by slowing down and yielding at intersections.
