As scams continue to threaten the public, the Yilan County Police Department's Criminal Investigation Division conducted a fraud prevention campaign at the Su'ao Fishery Association to educate the residents and strengthen their defense against scams. Specifically targeting elderly individuals who are common targets of fraud groups, the police highlighted two prevalent scam methods: false investments through social media and impostors posing as law enforcement officials over the phone. Emphasizing the importance of vigilance, the police advised the public to follow specific steps when receiving suspected scam calls and to contact the anti-fraud hotline immediately for verification.
