Amid increasing temperatures, Minister of Labor, Hsu Pei-Shan attended the event commemorating the implementation of the Occupational Safety and Health Act and the 20th anniversary of the establishment of the Occupational Safety and Health Administration on July 3. With high temperatures affecting 16 counties and cities, including Taipei where the heat index soared to 44 degrees, concerns are raised about the feasibility of implementing heat leave. Minister Hsu emphasized the recent reinforcement of heat inspections, especially in construction sites where many workers are struggling due to the heat. She urged companies to value and protect their workers, collaborating with the government to enhance workplace safety measures.
