Environment Minister Joins Mountain Cleanup with Kaohsiung City Hoping to Assist Companies in Achieving Zero Waste Transformation

On June 17, 2024, during the zero waste transformation process, Deputy Mayor Chen Chi-mai expressed the government’s hope to assist diligent Kaohsiung companies in subsidies and technology to carry out successful zero waste transformation work in promoting respect for the natural environment, protecting mountain ecology and culture. Kaohsiung City Government's Environmental Protection Bureau held a mountain cleanup and hiking event on the west side of Chaishan Trail at Guoshan San Road (former site of Tainan Guoshan Ready-Mixed Concrete Plant) on the 15th, inviting the Minister of the Environment, Pen Chi-ming. Mayor Chen Chi-mai delivered a speech at the event, emphasizing the importance of assisting Kaohsiung companies in the zero waste transformation process with subsidies and technology. Both Chen Chi-mai and Minister Pen Chi-ming led a large group of environmental volunteers and the public in mountain cleanup and hiking to create a sustainable mountain forest environment, promoting energy conservation and carbon reduction from a young age, starting from schools to communities.
