On June 7, 2024, foreign workers who escaped tried to evade the police but ended up running into the Taipei Detention Center themselves. The New Taipei City Tucheng police were chasing five escaped foreign workers who refused to cooperate with the inspection and tried to flee. The police pursued them on motorcycles, and two of them climbed over a wall and broke into the Taipei Detention Center, where they were immediately caught. One of them sustained multiple injuries, received medical treatment, and was transferred to the New Taipei City Special Duty Team. The foreign workers who escaped were caught after sneaking into the Taipei Detention Center.
