European Union ambassadors have agreed on a new series of substantial sanctions as a response to Russia's invasion of Ukraine. The sanctions, expected to be endorsed by EU foreign ministers, include measures to deny Russia access to key technologies, cut off energy revenues, and target Putin's networks abroad. The sanctions will focus on Russian liquid natural gas imports, making it more challenging to transport. The package also involves freezing assets and imposing travel bans on over 100 officials and entities, with Putin, Lavrov, and oligarchs among them.
