The head of the European Union naval force deployed to protect vessels in the Red Sea stated that the fleet needs to more than double its size due to escalating attacks by Iran-backed Houthi rebels. The operation has provided assistance to numerous ships, shot down drones, and destroyed missiles, but the risks for commercial shippers remain high. The Houthis have threatened to target ships, demanding additional resources to cover the vast area and ensure better protection.
