The European Commission has fined Google €2.95 billion (approximately $3.5 billion) for violating EU antitrust laws by favoring its own advertising services, specifically its ad exchange AdX. Google has 60 days to stop these practices or face stronger penalties. In response, Google plans to appeal, asserting that its actions do not constitute anti-competitive behavior. This marks the EU's second-largest antitrust fine, following a previous $5 billion penalty against Google in 2018.
