European Union leaders have endorsed Ursula von der Leyen as the President of the European Commission for another five years, along with Antonio Costa as European Council President and Kaja Kallas as the top diplomat of the EU. The decision to reinstall von der Leyen and appoint new officials was made at a summit in Brussels. The trio will now face approval by European lawmakers after a deal was struck among centrist political families. However, far-right politicians criticized the decision, but it was passed with a two-thirds majority.
