The European Union is considering imposing customs duties on low-cost goods purchased from Chinese online retailers such as Temu, Shein, and AliExpress. The European Commission is expected to propose eliminating the current 150 euros threshold for duty-free purchases later this month. This move aims to address the increasing influx of e-commerce parcels valued under 150 euros arriving in the EU from non-EU countries. The EU may accelerate the adoption of this customs reform project to combat the surge in cheap imports from online retailers like Temu and Shein.
