The European Union is preparing to implement counter-tariffs on €93 billion ($109 billion) worth of U.S. goods if a trade agreement is not reached by the August 1 deadline. The measures include two packages targeting U.S. steel, aluminum, and automobile tariffs. The first package, affecting €21 billion in imports, sets a 25% tariff on a range of goods, while the second package aims at €72 billion worth of industrial and agricultural products, though no specific tariff levels have been established yet.
