In November, business activity in the euro zone saw a sharp decline as both the services and manufacturing sectors contracted, according to the latest Purchasing Managers' Index (PMI). The final composite PMI dropped to 48.3, indicating a downturn in overall economic health, with the services sector shrinking for the first time since January. Overall demand weakened significantly, although service firms increased hiring, as indicated by a rise in the employment index.
