Investor morale in the euro zone suffered a significant decline in July, ending an eight-month streak of improvement. The Sentix index plummeted to -7.3 points, compared to 0.3 in June, with expectations also dropping from 10.0 to 1.5. The survey highlighted concerns over the European economy's recent recovery coming to an abrupt halt, influenced by factors such as French elections, German state elections, and uncertainty surrounding the upcoming U.S. presidential election. Germany's economy, the largest in Europe, also recorded a decrease in morale in July.
