Europe in Close Talks with Japan and South Korea to Form Military Industrial Alliance

Reported 8 months ago

Recent reports indicate that the EU is in close discussions with Japan and South Korea to establish a cross-Eurasian military industry cooperation alliance to address the severe lack of military industrial capacity in the 'Free World', highlighted by the Russia-Ukraine war. This would be the EU's first alliance with Asian countries in military industry technology cooperation, aiming to establish ministerial-level cooperation agreements for the EU to fund and support technical cooperation between European defense companies and those in Japan and South Korea. Japan, despite constitutionally renouncing war, has been actively enhancing defense capabilities recently to counter serious threats from North Korea and China, as acknowledged by the Japanese government. South Korea, already a key player in the global defense industry, is gearing up to become the world's fourth-largest arms exporter.
