Law enforcement agencies from 9 countries collaborated with Europol to dismantle a cocaine distribution network this week after a 3-year investigation. Operating from a logistics center in West Africa, the drug trafficking group was responsible for transferring nearly 8 tons of cocaine from South America to the EU region. The operation led to the arrest of 40 individuals, confiscation or freezing of over 22 billion in cash and assets. This highly sophisticated crime network required coordination among multiple partners across various countries, with Spain's Guardia Civil taking the lead and Europol coordinating efforts to combat the drug trafficking network.
