Eurozone finance ministers will discuss ways to promote the issuance of euro-denominated stablecoins in response to the growing digital currency market, dominated by the U.S. Nearly all existing stablecoins are in U.S. dollars, prompting European banks to launch their own euro stablecoin to enhance competition. The ministers will evaluate existing regulations and consider adjustments to encourage the development of high-quality European stablecoins.
