Eutelsat Faces Revenue Decline in Q1 Due to Weak Video Sales

Reported about 13 hours ago

Eutelsat, the French satellite operator and rival to Starlink, reported disappointing first-quarter revenues, primarily due to a significant drop in video sales, which fell 10.5% year-on-year. This decline overshadowed strong demand for government services, especially in Ukraine, leading to total revenues of 283 million euros, falling short of analyst expectations. Eutelsat's video segment, constituting 47% of its total revenue, suffered from a long-term market decline and sanctions on Russian channels. Despite challenges, government services saw an 18.5% revenue increase, highlighting potential growth areas in its offerings.
