Eva Longoria returns to acting in the Spanish-language dramedy 'Land of Women' after a decade directing. The show, adapted from a novel by Sandra Barneda, follows Longoria as Gala Scott, who flees to Spain to escape mobsters after discovering her husband's debt. Longoria, who executive produces the show and stars in it, wanted to create a series that provides a lighter, more comedic escape from the darker content prevalent in current streaming television. Longoria faced anxieties acting in Spanish for the first time but rose to the challenge, considering possibly directing in future seasons.
