Reported 6 months ago

A former Deutsche Bank investment banker, Rashawn Russell, has been sentenced to 41 months in prison and ordered to pay $1.5 million in restitution for orchestrating a Ponzi-like scheme promising investors guaranteed returns in cryptocurrency. Russell raised funds from friends and classmates, assuring them of significant profits, but instead used the money for personal expenses and gambling. He was also involved in a credit card fraud scheme. Russell worked at Deutsche Bank from 2018 to 2021, and the case is being heard in the US District Court in Brooklyn, New York.
