Apple introduced the new iOS 18 system at WWDC and announced that it will be officially launched on the new iPhone 16 at this year's fall event. For older models, Apple provided a list of supported devices, but only iPhones with A12 Bionic processor or newer chips can upgrade, with the latest AI features limited to 6 iPhone models. iOS 18 highlights Apple Intelligence with AI capabilities for email, notes, Pages, and some third-party apps, allowing users to draft replies, change tone and style, rewrite articles for proofreading or summarization. The update also includes Image Playground for quick AI image generation and a significantly improved Siri with ChatGPT-like understanding and natural conversation abilities for tasks like retrieving flight info from messages, mapping routes, or setting reminders in calendars.
