Three motorcycles in Hengchun, Pingtung, were engulfed by a strange plant called 'mao xi fan lian,' covering them completely to the point of being unrecognizable, causing concern among residents. Experts clarified that this alien plant typically only covers surfaces and does not invade the vehicles. Similar incidents were previously reported in Kaohsiung, where a student found creeping vines inside a motorcycle's handlebars. The plant responsible, described as 'mao xi fan lian,' is not invasive but can envelop the motorcycles if left parked for too long due to recent heavy rains accelerating its growth.
