TVBS News website reported on June 21, 2024 at 10:27 AM that during the earthquake on April 3, many buildings in Taiwan were impacted and swayed continuously; however, the 3rd tallest building in Taiwan, 'Nanshan Plaza' in Taipei's Xinyi District, has a 'pill of reassurance.' Similar to Taipei 101, it has a damper that can reduce building sway. Now unveiled for the first time, it costs up to 100 million Taiwanese dollars and, along with designed beams, columns, diagonal bracing, and shear walls, ensures the building can withstand up to a level 6 earthquake.
