Argentina to Begin Corn Exports to China in July, Boosting Grain Sector

Reported 4 months ago

Argentina is set to start corn exports to China in July, as confirmed by the country's grain export chamber, marking a significant development for Argentina, the world's third-largest corn supplier. The agreement between the two countries, after years of delays due to GMO concerns, has now been facilitated by China authorizing the import of two varieties of herbicide-tolerant GMO corn from Argentina. This move is expected to open up a major market for Argentine corn exports, with the country's production for the 2023/24 season estimated at 47.5 million tons.
