On June 19, 2024, at 8:33 am, a farmer in Xiluo, Yunlin, had his agricultural tractor stolen from his farmland. After reporting to the police and seeking help online, three days later, an old man from Taichung contacted him claiming that a friend had introduced someone selling a tractor. The farmer went to Yunlin, spent 100,000 NTD to buy it, and another 10,000 NTD to transport it to Taichung. Later, he found out he was deceived and hopes the original owner will compensate for his loss. A lawyer stated that although the old man was unaware, buying a tractor of unknown origin without legal procedures, he could only seek compensation from the swindler and not demand the original owner to cover the losses.
