The Black Tiger General of the Wude Palace in Yunlin stands out as the only vegetarian tiger deity in Taiwan, with offerings consisting solely of fruits and biscuits, deviating from the usual offerings of raw chicken eggs and meat. Tiger deities in Taoist beliefs are categorized by colors representing the five elements, primarily divided into black, yellow, and gold. The choice of offerings, whether on the table or on the ground, depends on the temple or worshippers' considerations. Various temples in Taiwan worship different tiger deities, differentiated by their colors and symbolic meanings.
