In New Taipei, the owner of a well-known diving shop in Longdong was accused of maliciously dumping 7.2 tons of 'construction waste' along the coastal road slopes, despite claiming to have already cleared the waste last August and receiving a suspended sentence. Locals expressed outrage, questioning if the Environmental Protection Bureau was covering up for the business owner, who is also a diving shop manager and was found guilty of illegal dumping. The incident not only raised ecological concerns but also shed light on the hidden side of environmental conservation activities carried out at the shop.
