Exclusive: Explosive Allegations from Group Chat, Minister Accuses 'Legislature Controlled by Chinese Communist Party'

Reported 8 months ago

Economic Affairs Minister Guo Zhihui has sparked controversy by sharing a video clip in an alumni group chat questioning whether the legislature is controlled by the Chinese Communist Party, implying Taiwan is moving in a direction favored by the CCP. The chat, consisting of nearly 400 EMBA alumni, saw Guo sharing a segment from a news program. Despite not further commenting, the message garnered 5 likes. The allegations within the video accuse Chinese President Xi Jinping of guiding actions post-Taiwan's 2020 election, planning strategic moves to influence Taiwan's legislature. The Ministry has responded that Guo only forwarded the video message and not authored the controversial text, retracting it upon being warned to be cautious in the future.
