The 2024 Golden Melody Awards ceremony took place at the Taipei Arena, with Lulu hosting the event and a red carpet featuring popular duo Huang Weijin and Chen Mingzhu. Two mainland Chinese male singers, Juder and Xu Jun, were nominated for Best Mandarin Male Singer, but both unexpectedly missed the event. Juder cited personal reasons for his absence, while Xu Jun mentioned work-related issues. Despite initially planning to attend, both singers had to cancel last minute, with Juder's team leaving Taiwan due to health reasons. This marks a total of 26 Chinese nationals involved in the award ceremony, some of whom had to cancel their participation due to personal work commitments.
