On June 13, 2024, at 10:15 am, reporters Xie Yunzhen and Wang Ziyu from SET News visited the intersection of Section 2 of Daren Road and Siwei Road in Taichung's Wufeng District, an area with many dead ends that has been discussed online recently. Locals claim that numerous outsiders mistakenly enter these dead ends and have to turn back. This design dates back to the urban planning in the colonial era, aimed at preventing through traffic and maintaining peace in the community. Local residents state that the dead-end roads were advocated for by developers in the 1960s and 70s to facilitate local development.
