Reported 7 months ago

In a recent spate of mobile game fraud cases, a man in Taipei reported losing NT$120,000 to a Hong Kong individual in exchange for a game account but later found unable to login, suspecting a large syndicate behind the scam. Experts warn of the increasing prevalence of mobile game scams and the difficulty in seeking compensation through international legal channels, as illustrated by the victim's situation of being scammed by a group posing as individual traders in Hong Kong. Another victim reported being duped into providing personal information and bank account details by Chinese scammers posing as players in the game, demonstrating the organized nature of the fraud operations.
