The Executive Yuan swiftly discussed and raised objections to the Parliamentary Empowerment Act passed by the Legislative Yuan on May 28, sending related documents to the Executive Yuan for review. Minister Schletter emphasized that the aim of the objection is not to escalate party conflict, but to have the Legislative Yuan reexamine the content of the bill through constitutional processes to find the largest consensus in line with the constitution and national interest. The objections include points on democratic principles, violating constitutional procedures, and encroaching on basic rights, with the final decision requiring presidential approval and then moved back to the Legislative Yuan for further review.
