The Executive Yuan's reconsideration of amendments to the Legislative Yuan's exercise of power and the Criminal Code was rejected by the Legislative Yuan, prompting the Presidential Office to affirm that the President will prudently evaluate whether to apply for constitutional interpretation in response. The rejection was finalized through a vote where 62 legislators opposed the reconsideration and 51 supported it. The ruling Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) has vowed to swiftly submit a constitutional interpretation, believing in the authority of the grand justices. The DPP criticized the opposition party's proposed Parliament reform for violating the constitution and aiming to consolidate power, while the Presidential Office emphasized respecting the decisions and rights safeguarded in a democratic constitutional system.
