Amidst the impact from OTT streaming services like Netflix and Disney+ invading Taiwan, cable TV users continue to decline, prompting cable TV providers to enter the broadband market. Companies like Ta Feng Electric (Ta Feng Cable TV) and TBC Taiwan Broadband Communications have launched 'Great Broadband' as a joint brand to promote home broadband services, surpassing 520,000 users by the end of June with a target of 600,000 users next year. With cable TV cord-cutting in Taiwan, the industry is shifting focus to new battlegrounds, such as the home broadband market.
