Expanding to Japan: Mega Bank Corporation Granted Approval by FSC to Establish Tokyo Branch

Reported 12 months ago

To expand overseas and meet the cross-border financial needs of Taiwanese companies, Mega Bank Corporation has been approved by the Financial Supervisory Commission to establish a Tokyo branch in Japan. This move aims to extend services to Northeast Asia, build a more complete international financial service network, deepen cross-border service capabilities, and promote economic and trade exchanges between Taiwan and Japan. With Taiwan Semiconductor setting up a new plant in Kyushu, Japan, and attracting dozens of supply chain companies to establish factories in Japan as well, substantial investment opportunities between Taiwan and Japan are anticipated, along with promising prospects for financial services. Mega Bank Corporation plans to set up a Tokyo branch in Japan and connect domestic and foreign service points to provide high-quality cross-border financial services to Taiwanese and Japanese companies. Additionally, besides the Tokyo branch in Japan, the bank is actively preparing for branches in Mumbai, India, and a liaison office in Seoul, South Korea, to expand its overseas business scale, create diverse profit sources, strengthen cross-border service depth and breadth, meet customers' comprehensive financial needs, and create more value for businesses.
