Jeju Island has always been a popular destination for foreign tourists visiting South Korea. In addition to shopping, theme parks, and other activities, the Jeju Island government has introduced 'unique tourism' which includes experiences like golfing, horseback riding, cycling, and joining traditional 'Haenyeo' female divers to catch seafood without scuba equipment. The tourism industry is shifting focus from shopping to experiences like cultural immersion, local cuisine, and activities such as kayaking. With the decline in domestic tourists post-pandemic, the government is targeting foreign visitors, especially young tourists from neighboring countries like China and Japan, with unique tours costing around 100,000 to 200,000 Korean Won.
