As extreme weather becomes more apparent this summer in Taiwan, with temperatures soaring above 38 degrees Celsius, Dr. Lin De-en from the Department of Atmospheric Sciences at National Taiwan University indicated that the probability of La Niña occurring after September exceeds 80%, reaching its peak in November. Three main reasons contribute to the stronger La Niña signal, leading to hotter summer temperatures in Taiwan. The likelihood of La Niña is increasing, with a high possibility that it will persist at least until early next year.
