As a heatwave sweeps across the Northern Hemisphere due to intensified climate change, many countries are experiencing record high temperatures, with the U.S. being hit hard. In Washington D.C., a Lincoln wax statue at Garrison Elementary School melted and appeared 'decapitated' due to the scorching heat. The rising temperatures have caused various incidents, such as being able to fry an egg on the pavement. This statue had previously melted last year, but this year it happened four months earlier, reflecting the significant temperature increase annually. The sculpture was sponsored by the D.C. Commission on Arts and Humanities and holds historical significance from its association with Lincoln and the Union Army.
