Thunderstorms are expected in the southern and mountainous regions in the afternoon, with a chance of heavy rain. Wu De-rong, a meteorologist, warns of extreme heat for Taiwan in the coming week, urging precautions against sunburn and heatstroke. Thunderstorms and heavy rain are expected to bring relief from the heat.
