Reported 8 months ago

A wax figure of Lincoln inside Garrison Elementary School in Washington D.C. melted due to extreme temperatures, with its head severed and some parts melted into a lump. The 3000-pound wax figure sponsored by the D.C. Arts and Humanities Commission could not withstand temperatures of at least 90°F (32°C) and up to 100°F (37.7°C), resulting in melting. Despite attempts to shield it with trees, the figure melted early this year, causing concern for the school authorities. The incident highlights the impact of the recent heat dome affecting around 100 million people in the U.S., emphasizing the consequences of climate change.
