As Taiwan experiences extreme temperatures reaching 38 degrees Celsius, 413 individuals have sought medical treatment for heat-related injuries in June 2024. Dr. Kang Hong-ming from Shu-Tien Clinic emphasized the risks of heat exhaustion and heat stroke due to inadequate heat dissipation and sweating. He urged special attention for the elderly, infants, those with chronic illnesses, weakened individuals, and those on certain medications. Dr. Kang also advised staying indoors during intense sunlight hours and highlighted the importance of early recognition and treatment for heat-related illnesses to prevent severe complications.
