As a result of the southwest wind today (June 29), an increase in moisture is expected, leading to afternoon thunderstorms, especially in northern and central Taiwan, the Yilan-Hualien region, and mountainous areas. The Central Weather Bureau has issued a high-temperature warning for 15 counties and cities, and areas such as Taipei, Taichung, and Kaohsiung are at risk of reaching temperatures up to 37 degrees Celsius. Residents are advised to stay hydrated and protect themselves from the scorching heat and potential thunderstorms.
