In New Taipei City, a 47-year-old man with a history of theft attempted to steal two air conditioner outdoor units from a repair shop. After pushing the units on a cart for 3 km to a recycling facility to sell them, he was rejected by the staff who suspected the items were stolen. Subsequently, he attempted to retrieve them on a motorcycle, but was caught by the police. Admitting to the theft, he expressed regret saying, 'It was all in vain.' The man was arrested and charged with theft.
