Failed Reconsideration Confirmed! Cho Jung-tai Laments: The Farthest Distance in the World is from the Questioning Stand to the Backup Stand

Reported about 1 year ago

On June 21, 2024, at 4:05 am, Prime Minister Cho Jung-tai visited the construction progress of the third terminal at Taoyuan Airport and expressed disappointment as the reconsideration proposal from the Executive Yuan was rejected once again by the Legislative Yuan. Cho noted the legislative distance from the questioning stand to the backup stand as the farthest in the world. Despite the failure, Cho indicated that efforts will continue. The Legislative Yuan's rejection, with a 62-51 vote, will lead both the Executive Yuan and the DPP Caucus in the Legislative Yuan to request a constitutional interpretation. Cho stated the importance of substantial review of laws passed by the parliament through democratic processes to ensure adherence to democratic principles and expressed hope for continued efforts between the Executive and Legislative Yuan for the people. Plans for future actions regarding the rejected proposals were also discussed.
