On June 30, 2024, China's privately-owned commercial company, Tianbing Technology, experienced a failed test launch of their product, TianLong-3, resulting in an explosion in the mountain area of Gongyi City, Henan Province. The liquid-fueled rocket lost power shortly after liftoff and crashed, but fortunately, there were no reported casualties. TianLong-3 was a large liquid carrier rocket tailored for China's satellite internet 'constellation construction' with performance capabilities comparable to SpaceX's Falcon 9.
