The Fair Trade Commission has once again prohibited Yen Leang and Yen Hui from acquiring Tang Rong. This decision was made due to concerns about competition restrictions that outweigh the overall economic benefits, following the Fair Trade Law. This marks the second time the merger has been blocked since it was first prohibited in May 2009. The Commission believes that the combined market share in the stainless steel flat plate market would exceed 50%, leading to significant competition concerns and limiting bargaining power for downstream businesses, ultimately resulting in the rejection of the merger proposal.
