Jacky Cheung, the 'God of Songs', held concerts in Taiwan in June 2024, leading to a ticket frenzy that attracted unscrupulous scalpers engaging in fraud. Exploiting the opportunity, a 41-year-old man surnamed Zhou from New Taipei City impersonated a scalper on a Facebook group to sell concert tickets, resulting in over 20 people being swindled of a total of 300,000 NTD. Following police investigation, Zhou was arrested on June 6 for fraudulently advertising and collecting payments for tickets that were never delivered, with most victims being young females and losses ranging from 1800 to 80,000 NTD each. Multiple bank accounts and technology were used by Zhou to conceal his identity, and he now faces charges under the Criminal Code for fraud.
