On June 29, 2024, at 12:12 am, in Xitun District, Taichung City, a large truck driver fell asleep at the wheel and crashed into a streetlight pole on a road divider due to drowsiness. The incident occurred near Far East Street on Xitun Road Section 3. Fortunately, there were no injuries or further damage to passing vehicles. The driver, a 33-year-old male named Huang, admitted that his drowsiness led to the accident. Authorities reminded the public to ensure they are well-rested before driving to ensure safety.
