The Taiwan Fact Check Center released report #3100 on July 1, 2024, debunking a video circulating online claiming to be an advertisement directed by Zhang Yimou, known for its emotional content highlighting the value of family. The video in question, showing a child drawing their mother with chalk on the ground and then lying down in the drawing, was actually created by a Chinese TikTok user in 2023 and has no connection to Zhang Yimou. The misattribution of this video as a work by Zhang Yimou is an example of false information spreading online.
