Falsely Claimed to Help Former Vice President's Wife and Others Raise Funds Exceeding NT$3.7 Billion, Pseudo-Accountant Sentenced to 14 Years and 2 Months in Second Trial

In the Taiwan High Court session held on June 19, 2024, Tsai Guo-an, the head of Eastern United Certified Accountants Co., was found guilty of falsely using the title of 'Chairman of the Taiwan Branch of the Asia-Pacific Alliance Chamber of Commerce' and claiming to have been entrusted by former Vice President Siew Wan-chang's wife, Zhu Shu-xian, and other political and business elites to help raise funds for overseas investments, totaling over NT$3.7 billion. The initial 14-year sentence was raised to 14 years and 2 months in the second trial. Tsai and the prosecution both appealed, and the decision can still be appealed.
